The Mobile Platform team at lululemon is focused on building the foundational capabilities that power world-class mobile experiences for our guests and internal partners. We design and maintain the core frameworks, shared services, build systems, and delivery pipelines that enable lululemon’s mobile apps to be fast, resilient, secure, and a joy to develop on. Our team operates at the intersection of engineering excellence and long-term platform strategy. We embrace modern engineering practices—including Agile, DevOps, and SRE principles—to ensure our ecosystem is scalable, highly observable, and optimized for continuous improvement. Collaboration is integral to our culture: we partner closely with product teams, architects, and cross-functional engineering groups to deliver platform solutions that unlock developer productivity and accelerate feature delivery across the mobile portfolio. As an Engineer on the Mobile Platform team, you will help define and evolve the technical foundation that supports lululemon’s mobile applications globally. You will contribute to shared infrastructure, accelerate build and release processes, and ensure our platform is stable, maintainable, and positioned for the future. Together, we build systems that empower teams, elevate our guest experience, and support lululemon’s broader digital vision.

 

core responsibilities

In this role, you will be a key member of an Agile release team. You will be recognized as a technical owner of the production systems you support, with a strong focus on optimizing product delivery for performance, security, and reliability.


  • Lead the design and delivery of complex platform capabilities across multiple distributed services, driving architectural decisions and execution with a high degree of autonomy.
  • Write exemplary code demonstrating engineering best practices in critical systems as technical reference for teams
  • Establish and enforce coding standards, testing practices, and engineering best practices across multiple teams in domain
  • Provide technical input and implementation perspectives to architects on system design and integration approaches
  • Lead code quality and design reviews across teams ensuring technical alignment with organizational standards
  • Conduct high-impact code reviews focusing on implementation quality, security, performance, and long-term maintainability
  • Design and champion automated testing strategies and frameworks that improve engineering productivity and quality
  • Debug and resolve critical production issues across complex distributed systems demonstrating deep technical expertise
  • Mentor engineers at all levels including senior engineers, providing guidance on technical concepts and leadership
  • Drive implementation approaches and coding practices for the domain in collaboration with engineering leadership and product management
  • Partner with stakeholders to define technical requirements, evaluate implementation options, and align engineering with business outcomes
  • Establish secure coding standards and security testing practices across teams
  • Lead incident response for major production issues including coordination and post-mortem facilitation


qualifications

  • Completed bachelor’s degree or diploma (or equivalent experience) in Computer Science, Software Engineering or Software Architecture preferred; candidates with substantial and relevant industry experience are also eligible
  • Eight+ years of engineering experience
  • Strong experience with Swift , Kotlin
  • Strong Experience with iOS & Android Apps performance and memory tuning with tools.
  • Strong Hands experience on implementing CI/CD tools – Xcode Cloud, Azure preferred
  • Strong experience with iOS frameworks such as Core Data, Core Animation,
  • Strong experience with offline storage, threading, and performance tuning
  • Familiarity with RESTful APIs to connect iOS applications to back-end services
  • Knowledge of other web technologies and UI/UX standards
  • Strong Understanding of Apples design principles and interface guidelines
  • Knowledge of low-level C-based libraries is preferred
  • Familiarity with cloud message APIs and push notifications
  • Knack for benchmarking and optimization.
  • Strong experience in publishing the apps in play store which has at least 500K downloads
  • Strong working knowledge of Continuous integration tools like Jenkins/Chef
  • Strong working knowledge of Code Quality tools/frameworks like Sonar
  • Strong knowledge of Automated Testing. Unit Testing, Integration Testing & Contract Testing.
  • Good knowledge of Agile development methodologies
  • Working experience on ecommerce mobile apps
  • On-call support experience with PagerDuty, Service Now
  • Knowledge of infrastructure monitoring tools like Datadog, Splunk
  • Experience working with Lean and Extreme Programming (XP)

compensation and benefits package 

lululemon’s compensation offerings are grounded in a pay-for-performance philosophy that recognizes exceptional individual and team performance. The typical hiring range for this position is from $123,500 - $162,100annually; the base pay offered is based on market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and internal equity. As part of our total rewards offering, permanent employees in this position may be eligible for our competitive annual bonus program, subject to program eligibility requirements.
